Allison and I are both pretty big on yoga. I think if you spend a good portion of your time sitting and looking down at your hands, you either get big on yoga or big on chiropractic bills, you know? If you listen to the podcast, you’ll know that the Yoga+Knitting retreat is fast approaching (registration is closed for this year, but it’s never too soon to start thinking about 2016!). Well, that’s actually going to be my SECOND yoga retreat of the year. I’m a bit of a yoga junkie, y’all. Earlier this month, I went on a yoga (only) retreat to Tulum, Mexico. I still brought my knitting, obviously. Actually, I may have allotted more room in my luggage to knitting projects than to clothes. ‘Cuz priorities.
I knit at the airport(s). I knit on the plane(s). I knit all over the resort in between yoga classes, delicious meals, and adventures. And let me tell you, yoga and knitting go together like Lucy and Ethel, bacon and eggs, whiskey and my belly, so I’m pretty dang excited about the adventure awaiting the Whiskeyknitters in just a few weeks! I already miss doing yoga twice a day, and I’m excited about the addition of actual knitting classes and fresh mountain air. What a gift, I keep thinking, to combine so many things I love so much.
This past Sunday I had to travel again on a work trip to New Orleans, and while I was knitting in the airport at the start of this new journey, reflecting on beachyknitting and hammock knitting and all our assorted whiskeyknitting adventures, I started to wonder, what are some of the nuttiest places you’ve brought YOUR knitting? I’d really love to know!
